SOAR Social Security Appointed Representatives Program

Another Life Foundation (Alifef) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Alifef was founded in 2004 to offer services to individuals battling with mental illness and suicidal behaviors.

Another Life Foundation’s SOAR Social Security Appointed Representatives Program provides trained SOAR Reps to assist youth and adults with the application process for applying for Supplemental Security Income/Social Security Disability Insurance SSI/SSDI Benefits.  

 

The clientele served are no to low-income level community members. Who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, youth exiting foster care, youth in domestic violence shelters, incarcerated or recently released from incarceration, and have a mental illness, disability, or other co-occurring disorders.

 

This program also helps these individuals find and maintain stable housing and provides the necessary support they need to rebuild their lives. This support is ongoing, through case management which includes budgeting help, life skills, access to counseling and therapy sessions, mentoring support, and referrals to community resources.

• Our program aims to foster hope, and empowerment; and improve access to services that help stabilize living situations and enhance the quality of life of adults, youth, and special needs populations.​​

• The purpose of this program is to increase access to SSI/SSDI and Medicaid/Medicare benefits for eligible adults and children.

Our services include: 

(1) becoming your appointed representative, which enables us to act on your behalf; and

(2) starting the application process; and

(3) researching and collecting your medical evidence; and

(4) communicating with all essential agencies; and

(5) completing and submitting your application to the Social Security Administration; and

(6) lastly, as a bonus, we will file an appeal, if your application is denied.
