Another Life Foundation (Alifef)


Another Life Foundation (Alifef) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Alifef was founded in 2004 to offer services to individuals battling with mental illness and suicidal behaviors.



Our services include public speakers, minority mental health professional resources, educational services, public awareness campaigns, and health equity advocacy programs. 


  • Our mission is to promote wellness, empowerment, and support to save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors by educating the public, raising awareness, providing support and advocating for health equity policies that affect people with mental illness.

  • Our focus is "Mental Health is Wealth" and mental wellness.


In 2018: 

SOAR Social Security Appointed Representative Program

Our services has expanded to include a program that assists those seeking to apply for SSI and/or SSDI benefits. Our organization provides trained SOAR Appointed Representatives to  assist those in the community with the application process.


In 2019​:


Our services has expanded to include a program focused on Black/African American men. Our organization provides a culturally competent approach by involving diverse community leaders to communicate the importance of mental wellness in the Black/African American community. This is done by community barbershops hosting Black male speakers.  These speakers will share their inspirational stories and experiences about achieving mental wellness, and bringing awareness of mental health resources to the community,​



In 2020

COVID-19 Virtual Counseling Support Program 

Our services has expanded to include a program focused on the Black/African American community. Our organization provides culturally competent counselors and therapists that offer virtual mental health services to the Black/African American community. 


In 2021

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA/FEAB)

Our services has expanded to include a partnership with the IRS to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. It is focused on offering free income tax preparation to community members, with a household income of $57,000 a year or less.

The Black Men's Project - Black Fellowship Program

Our services has expanded to include a Black Fellowship Program. It is an extension of, The Black Men's Project. Every 6 months a new Black fellow will step into the position.  Each fellow will help eliminate mental health stigma and increase access for mental health services while growing leadership and capacity to support young men of color and their families. Another Life Foundation Fellows will utilize education, public health,  and social justice practices to create a just and inclusive mental health landscape across targeted regions.

The Black Youth Project

Our services has expanded to include a program focused on bringing awareness and stressing the importance of mental wellness, among the Black male youth in the community. This will be done by collaborating with various Black youth community organizations, and school districts.
