Meet Ayonna McCullough

Ayonna has been in the mental health field for over 10 years. Her clinical background includes working with at risk youth and teens, physically and emotionally disabled adults and children, and the incarcerated population.  She chose the mental health field because  she knew she had a way of connecting with others and making them feel comfortable.  She started her private practice in Colorado Springs in March 2017, 

Ayonna got involved with Another Life Foundation as a way of networking and speaking engagement opportunities.

But most importantly to connect with other African American professionals in this area. She believes that most African Americans have not sought out mental health treatment mostly due to the stigma that is associated with seeking counseling and family traditions such as “What goes on in this house, stays in this house.” This can be a difficult burden that impacts children who grow up to be adults with mental health issues. Ayonna is greatly appreciative to be an Alifef Ambassador and looks forward to many more collaborations!"
